For Those About To Rave (Ln2 Outstanding Vina Mix‘23)

About Matiangu

Typically 140 BPM

Matiangu (玛田鼓) is a Southeast-Asian bounce style named after the "玛田" club-audio brand, filed by the CPUDJ record pool alongside VinaBounce and Diudiu Drum under the umbrella "东南亚风格" (Southeast Asian style). The three are near-synonyms in practice: track titles routinely fuse the labels, and the whole family reworks familiar pop hooks over a punchy four-on-the-floor bounce kick with sped-up vocal chops, simple melodic stabs, and short tension-and-release builds meant to keep a floor moving between drops. Arrangements are loop-friendly and front-loaded, so the energy lands fast and stays high. Most CPUDJ listings put it at 140 BPM, and it is shelved next to Vinahouse, Chinese Bounce, and manyao across Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and Thailand.

DJ tip: Beatmatch against other bounce and Vinahouse material and ride the vocal hook into the next drop; most CPUDJ releases sit at 140 BPM, but confirm each track since edits in this scene are not standardised.
